What about simply displaying the copyright file in the module form ?
this means there is only one file to maintain and at the same time
provide visibility for the authors.

This idea sounds good, information is not duplicated and people can
see their name in the interface and be happy (we also want people to
be happy, don't we ;)).

COPYRIGHT file doesn't have a defined place for installation.

We could define a policy for those and treat them as data in the
setup.py file.


I think the author's field must be kept, for example to automate a tool to offer info about the modules. Perhaps each module can contain a ConfigParser file with meta data info about the module (easily parseable), and keep the __tryton__.py as simple as possible.
