It's certainly not that I couldn't use it for oss apps, it's just that I'd rather invest my time learning tools that are useful for both open and closed source apps. Versatility is a good quality in a tool.

Off the top of my head I would lean toward something like the wxWidgets/wxPython license (which is really the LGPL). It may be worth noting that Tryton rightfully is proud to say at the top of the home page "written in Python and using PostgreSQL". Both Python and and PostgreSQL use licenses that don't prohibit their use in commercial projects (PSF and BSD-like respectively).
