Not limited ... if so, there's only one option: use the ssl-enabled vhost as first one in order to get the right cert.If you have one ip address for each domain, then it's possible to have ssl for each domain, otherwise you are using name-based virtual hosts and then your options are limited.

looking at your error_log should be usefull. And with netstat you should be able to look if your apache is generally listening for ssl-requests.
