Actually mISDN (and mISDNuser) on it's own seem to work pretty fine.

At least I'm running a Trustix box with mISDN and PBX4Linux without
any issues.

Regarding my current problem this however doesn't help, as PBX4Linux
is interfacing directly with mISDN, but there is no way to use mISDN
on it's own as a serial/ppp device etc.

I don't think right now Capi4Linux+mISDN on Kernel 2.6 is a stable,
working combination.
