There is no 'just' here... Servers deployed before this mess with TSL. Getting around to switch is not a small task, and I do not have the resources to pull it off without a gun to my head. 250 users, 300 students, 8 locations scattered across 600km^2, WAN over that area, 10 servers, and one man to support it: me. No money for servicecontracts or a colleague. That's what I call "very bad" ;) >> Another thing is that with a more well known distro my employer will >> have less trouble finding a qualified replacement for me, should I resign. > > Well, depends on how many linux experts are available in your country/area. > I know several companies desperatly looking for new employees with linux > knowledge.. without success. Exactly. And TSL requires an 'expert' because of less documentation and smaller userbase. RedHat got books and classes, and are officially supported by some other vendors. Makes it all the more easy for my employer. They are starting to ship consultants to RedHat classes here. They are far from experts, but they might be able to fix the problem if they meet a stock RH distro. _______________________________________________ tsl-discuss mailing list tsl-discuss@lists.trustix.org http://lists.trustix.org/mailman/listinfo/tsl-discuss
