I did some custom build servers for customers, and with good care of  
selection, and good documentation they are very happy without paying  
the extra of big name vendors.

get a small company in your area and let them show you what they have  
build in the past, and you might find a partner to buy all your  
server needs with.

and of course somebody mentioned before: most cheap cases are crap,  
amd has better prices for performance, and a well designed machine is  
easier to service, and my opinion on that is, that I had really  
troubles getting parts for an old proliant. we actually got the parts  
of ebay .. for a mission critical p2 .... (don't ask, messy story).
so a standard case if you don't mind a few extra units in height is  
better.

just my two cents,
and of course, if it isn't my budget, I buy big vendor :)
