So what if OJB were given/used Torque's forward/reverse engineering
capabilities? E.g. the various OJB XML files would be created, perhaps
even basic classes with get/set methods would be created, but to do the
gut persistence, one of OJB's APIs would be used.

I think this is what the OJB people would like to see and from an
objective point of view probably makes the most sense.
