i installed the tdk in a normal way, but i am missing the notes how to
install
turbine independent of the supplied tomcat 4.0 engine.
Can you point me in the direction how i should setup turbine on a clean
engine ?

Greetz,
Marco

Why do you think your the effort put in to learning 2.x will be lost?

Turbine 3.0 is undoubtedly different internally, no question, but your pull
tools, modules and templates will all work in Turbine 3.0. If you stick to
the use of pull tools in your templates than the impact should be minimal.
Your module source will require some modification but in most cases a
migration tool will take care of that for you.

I wouldn't recommend either, I would use 2.x and migrate to 3.x when it is
released.
