Ok,
In order to quell a bunch of this discussion and give Dave Watanabe easier
direction and come to some sort of conclusion sooner rather than later (ug,
these logo discussions can take weeks and i don't have the time for it right
now...<smile>), here is what I want to see in the logo:
#1. I like his 1.gif. The "turbine" should be on the left side in front of
the t. This keeps the logo smaller and easier to make a "Powered by" logo.
#2. The font is perfect. the case is perfect (lowercase).
#3. I like what Frank did with the color. The orange and yellow gives the
impression of fire. I like that. Just apply it to 1.gif.
#4. I don't want to see the ASF or URL in the logo version right yet. If
anything, it should simply have the URL at the base of the logo in the same
font/color as the logo. My reasoning for not including it right now is that
eventually the URL will change to jakarta.apache.org/turbine/ and I don't
want to give it out as java.apache.org/turbine/ for now. Also, the ASF
feather doesn't need to be in there IMHO because if the URL is, that
implicitly makes it clear it is an ASF project.
