On Friday I got the go ahead for a Turbine-based
project, so I get to play around with Turbine full-time!
So this weekend I played around with the SQL/OM generating
code and came up with something I called Torque.
>From an XML Schema file it generates SQL for your target
DB, and the sources for your Peer-based OM. I've borrowed
heavily from all the source already in Turbine.
It's certainly not perfect, I've generated SQL for a bunch
of different targets for people to look at if interested.
It's certainly deficient right now, but over the next
couple of days I think I can get it up to snuff. It can
also generate the XML Schema from JDBC metadata (thanks leon!).
It's here if anyone wants to look at it. There's a README
there. It's still fairly primitive right now, but I'll
finish it this week.
