What do you mean saying different? Please read doc/webmacrosite.html,
associating layout / screen classes & templates is described in there.

I always added contexts in server.xml because Tomcat documentation said so. I think
that it shouldn't work otherwise,

WebMacro by default searches CLASSPATH for it's configuraion file. We didn't like
that, so we added some code to Turbine
to tell WebMacro what file to use as it's config file. That's why we have a setting
for that.
