In that case how about putting in some minimal documentation somewhere
that mentions the consequences of ignoring this problem, how to do the
above and where to look. The current postgresql howto implies that
turbine simply won't work without these patches. I'm totally brand new
to all this, and I just want to get something up and running. Being told
that I have to hack postgres like this just to get it working is
offputting.
