Wow, long and hot-tempered thread this is.

I looked into the RunData source and found there what determines whether the
Document class is used:

If RunData.getOut() is called, this will cause Turbine to skip all the ecs
stuff.

This is not documented however, and was what caused me and probably Joe
frustration (I needed to get rid of the <html></html> tags alltogether (see
thread "WML ?").
