First, I'd like to say that I'm very happy to hear this news. It's very
exciting to be a part of this! Some time ago I wandered why Turbine
isn't moving into Jakarta, once WebMacro licensing issues were resolved,
but I was too busy/tired to ask :-)

I think that Jason is done with it, or at least very close.

The new security code is working, and it had it's share of
testing as a part of our project at e-point. I believe that those are
ready to be checked in into the trunk, but I'd appreciate if more
people reviewed the code on the branch, so we can avoid confusion
later.

I think that we should remove the old admin application from the turbine
core, so that the new code can be merged in (right now the old app won't
compile)
and then rebuild the application as a part of TDK (opinions?)

I would like to see those items on the todo before release:

+ decent logging architecture. logging is really important for both
developing
applications (debug) and running them (audit)

+ javadoc improvements: we should have package overviews (the bottom
line is one-line
package descriptions for project overview page), and package groups on
the
project overview page (see javadoc group parameter, and xalan apidocs
for an example)
because right now the package listing is overwhelming for newcomers
and hard to
navigate. there is also a lot of classes that could use better
javadocs as well.

+ more documentation. primers and HOWTOs are priceless. They will gain
new users,
and save mailing list traffic at the same time. More technical
documents, augmented
with UML diagrams are also important, but of lesser priority.

+ updated website. I saw some postings about it recently, so I
understand that someone
  is working on that already.
