Allaire also has one called JRun which is, I believe, about $500 for the
servlets/JSP
only version, more (but not as bad as BEA/IBM/Netscape) for the EJB version.
No source of course.

The Orion app server does EJB as well as servlets and JSP and, although I
haven't
done anything other than install it and look at the welcome page, it seems very
tight to me, and they keep up with the specs. Costs around US$1500, no source.
http://www.orionserver.com May not play well with Apache and other http servers
since their philosophy favors using their built in http. Worth a look IMO.

I'm currently using Resin on a production site, it's very tightly written,
the author is active
and responsive on the mailing list, keeps up with the standards, and makes
the source
available. The licensing is very friendly (for a commercial license),
basically you don't
have to pay unless someone is actually making money for using it. It's
solid and fast,
I give it a thumbs up.

Personally I'm switching back to Tomcat, but that has more to do with my
interest in
keeping up with what's going on with Jakarta and Apache than because it's
necessarily
the best production solution.
