I have downloaded the snapshots from today, so I have the source 
code now, but I thought this was to be discouraged for first-time 
users of the framework. Where is the source from the TDK I 
downloaded, below?

BTW, I downloaded ECS and Turbine. Is the sole purpose of the 
database access to do authentication? Can I use our middleware 
to indirectly look these things up instead of accessing a 
database directly?
