mine did not create a lib directory, and actually I did get this tar error:
tar: directory checksum error

the same error.

Here is the version of gzip I am using to decompress:
gunzip 1.3
(1999-12-21)
Copyright 1999 Free Software Foundation
Copyright 1992-1993 Jean-loup Gailly

Here is the version of tar I am using to extract:
For the life of me, I can't find the tar command which
gives the version, but I can tell you that it is the one
that comes with SunOS 5.6 in the /bin directory.

I cannot find this executable, 'newapp'. I only have a 'site' directory
under the webapps directory.
