I don't quite understand why you need this information for your login
screen.

Are you allowing the users to chose one sub-application (which is
reperesented
by a Turbine group) and you want only those sub-apps in which the User
was
assigned some role to show up in the select box? Hmmm... Actually I like
this solution. Still, it doesn't make the users *members* of groups :-).

I'm happy that the systems works good for you. It's fine to use it in
any 
possible way, but *please* don't use misleading terminology on the list.
There is enough confusion about groups, and I think that you just made a 
little bit more :-)
