My idea was to keep the two repos in sync until things have settled (and there should not be much going on until then) so we won't create confusion if we move another time. My though was that if we don't use the tracker at SF anyway, we should rather move the repos to github.

But if you think that creates even more confusion, go ahead. The most important point is that we create a stable project infrastructure soon, so we can work on the project itself again.
