I guess what bothered me most was that the subject began with the seemingly humble request, "Please teach me..." but degraded into various versions of "tell me what I want to hear". It disappointed in that it promised at least some dialogue, but ended up being, for the most part, a lecture from Guido (about something for which he professed little knowledge) and a series of unsupported "mine's the best" posts from his many fans. His thoughts on XML were puzzlingly muddle-headed, but I hope he'll pass them along to the W3C for comment...I'd like to hear how Tim Berners-Lee (a Python user) might reply. I really expected more (or better) from him, and that is where the ire originates.
