Recently, a suggestion was made to me to make Fast Track be able to be able to support a "hosted service" model, with a nice way to sign up for an account, similar to Tada Lists, Basecamp, etc. It would need to be able to intelligently determine which account to load based upon the URL, so for example http:// blazingthings.fasttrackin.com would load up Kevin's Fast Track instance for tracking this company's project status. This could be eventually made into a paid service (with probably free accounts available as well). I think I already have a place to host this service. I think that this is a great idea, and I have had some initial thoughts on how to implement such a model in the code. Obviously, people will still be able to download the application themselves and host it on their own, but a public web app serving as an example of TurboGears' power would be a huge benefit, as Sean had mentioned previously in this thread. Also, people involved could potentially make a little money out of the deal ;) I am planning on doing a little sprinting on this during the week, if anyone would like to participate and get familiarized with Fast Track's code, please let me know! I am fairly busy right now, and it would be nice to have some additional people working on Fast Track. I am still looking for a really great logo, by the way. I have a few submissions already, but I haven't seen one that knocks it out of the park just yet :) -- Jonathan LaCour http://cleverdevil.org --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
