Yeah, finding TG documentation is sometimes a bit like taking a walk in 
the dark - you find things by stubbing your toes and barking your shins 
:-) It's improving slowly, though. I decided to try and fix up the 
tutorial because I won't be able to attend the docs sprint but I want to 
help.

I instead tried restarting the server that CatWalk ran on, and lo I 
could create the group and add a user to it. Oh well, forward progress 
is good.

I have no idea. I somehow doubt it - I haven't actually looked at the 
code that implements the authentication yet :-)
