OK, I've finished the rewrite and I'd appreciate any comments. I'd also 
appreciate it if someone could point me to (or provide) the information 
on encrypted passwords I'll try to incorporate that. We also need to 
explain how the permissions are used to respond to the comments about 
ownership and permissions. So there's still a ways to go.
