I can certainly see the other side of the coin. Mostly I am surprised in that regard that the widget scatter and documentation situation was not brought up to snuff first. IMHO a new user coming from other open source projects would probably be a bit take aback at the state of widgets right now given the implicit expectations that come with a major number release.
