I would just like a bit of advice on where Turbogears is going with the new development, and how that stands relative to the previous versions. Because of the poor documentation I went out and bought 'The Book', but since then have been disappointed to see that, as with so many open source projects, the developers were more keen on rewriting the system than getting around to fully documenting it.
I know I am not forced to upgrade to 2.0, but I also know that TG documentation has traditionally been poor, that most useful help has therefore to come from this group, and also that eventually people here will presumably gravitate towards what is new and shiny (just like last year when I would post here asking for help on the last released version, and would only get answers based on the unreleased development version). What is the status of 1.1? How many changes to 1.0 code are typically needed? Does it aid eventual migration to 2.0? And is it even imminent? Unless I've missed something (which is entirely possible, I concede), there was supposed to be a beta released 'in the next few weeks', which was about 4 months ago. As someone who cannot develop web apps full time, I need to know that the proverbial rug will not be pulled out from under my feet if it takes me 6 months to finish my project. I don't expect things to be fully stable, but I'd at least like to know which of the various moving targets it's best to aim for. -- Ben Sizer --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
