I'll let Florent answer this one in detail, but 1.1 is coming pretty soon. There have been a couple 1.0.x releases over the last couple months, and Florent and the 1.x team have been doing a great job improving things on that end. 1.1 has turned out to be a bit more challenging to complete than we thought, mostly because we got a bit more ambitious about what ought to be done in1.1. As for 1.1 migration, you'll likely have to change a few things to go from 1.x to 1.1, but it will be a relatively easy update, certainly it should be significantly less than the 0.8 to 1.0 upgrade path from last year. > As someone who cannot develop web apps full time, I need to know that > the proverbial rug will not be pulled out from under my feet if it > takes me 6 months to finish my project. Our goal is to make 1.0.x to be a place that is very friendly to people looking for stability and are working on projects like yours which may take a while to complete. The 1.1 transition should be reasonably smooth and should in turn make the 2.0 transition a bit easier. I would however stay away from Active Mapper -- which is no longer supported by upstream -- if you're going to use SQLALchemy, use it "in the raw" for now. Asside from 1.1 or 2.0, we'll be switching the default ORM to SQLAlchemy, and the default templating engine to Genshi. SQLObject and Kid will still be supported though, so you don't have to migrate your existing projects. In fact, the only problem you may see is that the new documentation will cover these tools, and not the old ones. --Mark Ramm --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
