If anybody wants to help with 1.5 contact me or Florent, and we'll
help you get started.

Otherwise I think 1.1 is a good goal for 1.x developers and is very
close to complete.

1.5's goal was to provide an intermediary stepping stone between 1.1
and 2.0, but I think the same can be accomplished by adding SQLObject
and Kid support to 2.0 and improving the 2.0 migration docs.

GearShift is something TG 1.x users should know about. It was
created off of 1.5 code, but now released to move out on it's own and
become whatever it will be. Unlike 1.5 it's not just a stepping
stone between 1.1 and 2.0. It can definitely be used to serve that
purpose, but it is also free to invent new API's and diverge from
both 1.x and 2.x.

GearShift is another proof that 1.x code need not be abandoned, even
if the TG community abandoned 1.x itself (which we have no plans to
do), people like Dag would pick up the slack and provide a supported
environment.
