I'll defer to Donz on this, but off the top of my head, I know Warren Zevon got the whole show on his final appearance in 2002. > My armchair quarterbacking says that while Letterman asked some tough > questions (which he was under no obligation to do, as he is merely the > host of a comedy show), his attitude towards McCain (and his opinions > about Palin) were very different when McCain was in the room. I beg to differ. I was surprised he was so tough during both the monologue and the panel. He really hammered McCain and wouldn't let go -- to the point where McCain looked extremely uncomfortable. While some of the questions -- like the Liddy stuff -- were irrelevant (there are far richer lines of inquiry with McCain), but I wish "real" reporters were as probing with the four candidates as a gap-toothed funnyman was. --Dake Sikula --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
