Do most Fox affilaites run news in the 10:00/9:00 Central hour, or do
some feature syndicated fare? Seems like the expense of starting up a
news department would eat up a lot of dough.

Most Fox affiliates I've seen with news fall into one of two categories:
(1)They were a legacy station before all the affiliation swaps in the '90s.
(2)They are either co-owned with a legacy station in the market, or in a
news-sharing agreement with one.

At this point, I think it's just the smaller markets --
Clarksburg/Fairmont/Morgantown WV (#168) -- comes immediately to mind that
couldn't support an independently budgeted newscast.
