I've had this happen in all manner of feeds on a variety of
aggregators and I don't think it is the fault of either.  My theory is
that the fault lays with the writers of the feed software.  Whenever
someone comments on a feed, even if it's years old, the software
updates the date and time of the feed.  The aggregator dutifully
updates it's list of "new" feeds.  You get stuck with viewing an old
one.

The only way an aggregator could avoid this would be to somehow
maintain a list of the feeds you've already seen with some kind of
imaginary index number and never show them again.  The problem is,
there IS no such index number in the specs.
