I kind of feel the same, but I am open to a counter argument. I have
heard their music before, liked but not loved it. But last night I
really liked almost everything they played, even the small little
pieces. I got the feeling that their musicianship would let them play
a wider range of stuff than I would have thought. Partly it may be a
contrast effect - the band seems a hell of lot better when every time
the host opens his slack jawed mouth you are irritated by his
interruption of the background music.

If Fallon was just a little less grating I might be tempted to keep
watching past tonight just to sample this band a little more.

I agree with what Dave (and now I see he signs his posts Dake...and
now I see sometimes he signs his posts Dave - wow, I never noticed
that before) wrote - Fallon should just go ahead and break the mold
already. Instead of dressing up his father's clothes that obviously
don't fit, do whatever people like him do at 12:35 in the morning -
maybe a Dorm room set with lots of empty pizza cartons. I am trying to
think of some setting in which I have seen Jimmy Fallon on SNL that I
liked him....but no, there is nothing. Oh, yes, I know, whenever he
was sitting next to Tina Fey. I guess that is why I will record the
show again tonight.
