Seriously? You consider "Mean Girls" to be Tina Fey's "big breakthrough"? You'd never heard of the woman before she rode Lindsay Lohan's coattails to fame? :)
Maybe I'm alone in my opinion, but SNL hasn't been "the kids' show" for years...simply because it hasn't been funny in years. The core audience at this point is we geezers who grew up with the show, and don't know what else to do anymore at that time of a Saturday Night. The guest hosts usually skew toward the high end of 18-34 (if not even older), and they resort to stunt casting and rap/hip-hop musical guests to get whatever percentage of the younger crowd that they *can* get.
I'm gonna stand by my original statement in it's entirety.
