To me, it isn't a testament to Letterman not being popular, I see it more as a testament to how little the institution of marriage is regarded. He's been with the woman for years, and they already had a kid. So last Thursday he said a few words and probably slipped a ring on her finger. Many don't see marriage as more than that. They don't recognize the significance of a formal union, and so they don't see the story as having much significance, either. I think that means Jimmy Kimmel is the last single talk show host standing. You would think that would be a story, too, but it isn't. -- Kevin M.
