This week's experiment in rotating the commentary of "Idol"
contestants by half the panel (Dawg and Kara one time, Ditzoid and
Simon the next) to end on time and not anger the "Fringe" fanboiz (not
to mention DVRd viewers not seeing Adam Lambert's song if they didn't
set for 15 minutes over) still had the show running over (but barely)
and caused lots of complaints on Fox's "Idol" boards, so all four
judges will comment on every performance this Tuesday as they do what
they should've done last Tuesday, even at the risk of puncturing
Quentin Tarentino's ego: No opening tape package on the week's theme
(which will be disco--as if we really wanted to see John Travolta in
"Saturday Night Fever" again):

And from Lisa D.'s comments, it seems like there are those on the
"Idol" boards who are opposed to the concept of a woman on the judging
panel being concise, analytical and coherent in her commentary, just
because she hasn't been with Dawg and Simon for all seven previous
years and they like "family."

Meanwhile, despite everything, Tom Bergeron takes his live show and
delivers the ABC schedule over to the next programs on time at 9:32
p.m. and/or 10:01 p.m. every week, without fail. Just like they used
to do before videotape.
