I agree that Obama's Biden joke was lame (and Sykes' Biden joke was
pretty good). But I will still disagree with you about the rest of
Obama's "set". I don't think we can really blame the President for not
breaking new ground with his latest stand-up material - even Jerry
Seinfeld mined the same areas for 20 years before burning his old
jokes - and Obama does have a day job after all. The teleprompter joke
was self-depreciating comments on what has been said about him since
the innuguration, and the Messiah jokes were all rifs on what has
happened since he took office. I really liked his interaction with
Steele - who seemed to take it all in good humor (I did not see a
reaction shot from him during Sykes Rush-bombs - that would have been
interesting).

I don't see what you liked about Sykes' kidney line (something like
"he hopes the president fails - I hope his kidneys fail"). Really, is
that the best she's got for him? I would much rather some kind of
"Rush is a racist" joke than "Rush is fat" joke. It may be the
difference here is that I generally like Sykes, and expect a lot more
from her.
