A show can have more than one executive producer. I don't have a copy
of The Late Shift available to check out the details, so I will throw
this out as speculation: Kushnick was made an EP for her ego and to
keep the host happy, and Vickers had enough experience with NBC and/or
running a talk show that the network felt confident that she could run
the show day-to-day and be a conduit for network communications with
Jay, so she was also named an EP.

I was also surprised by the audience noise, more so during Prince's
performance on Thursday night. The audience wouldn't stop cheering and
screaming during the song and drowned him out at parts, as he was
doing a slow R&B number. If microphone technology isn't yet at the
place where mics can pick up sound only from the stage and not from
the audience, then post-production sound editing should take care of
the problem.
