As DonZ replied, it actually is quite complicated. And now I'll say
something impolitic (big shock): There is a genuine scarcity of funny
women in the world, and that is a shame. A funny woman is more
precious to me than a pot of gold... and almost as hard to find. I can
count on my fingers the number of funny women in contemporary American
comedy. And, as DonZ already said, it is even more difficult to find a
female comic with Letterman's style. Letterman does "frat' humor," and
there just aren't a lot of female fraternities.

And before I get attacked, I'm not saying men are funnier than women.
A funny woman is as good or better than a funny guy. But there are
more funny men than women.
