I was moved to complain again to Time Warner Cable NYC about the
inadequacies of Navigator OS.

Received a response that mentioned, among other things, that you can
now FF or REW in 15 minutes increments by holding down the appropriate
button for at least two seconds.

My reply to them: And how are we supposed to know about these
improvements IF YOU DON'T TELL ANYBODY? Just like with slo-mo and
single-frame advance, the capabilities were enabled, but the users
were not informed.

Other changes are promised. The net result of these changes: We should
have all of what we used to have with Passport OS. Except, I presume,
Time Warner won't be paying a licensing fee to anyone.

Meanwhile, if anybody knows how to prevent the foreground channel from
changing when two consecutive (non-overlapping) shows are programmed
to record, please let me know. (In other words: Watching channel A.
Programmed to record, a show on channel B from 9 to 10, and a show on
channel C from 10 to 11. At 10:00, channel A switches to channel C,
thus interrupting my viewing. What should happen: the background tuner
should switch from channel B to channel C.)
