My problems with both shows are their glacial pacing and the fact that the supporting characters are so much more interesting than the leads. I was in for nine season of "The X Files" and yes, things ended poorly, but interesting things happened over those first few seasons. Other than the premises of these two programs, nothing interesting has happened. Joseph Fiennes may be a great actor but he's not a very interesting screen presence. The appeal of Sonya Walger has always been a mystery to me. Far more interested in the John Cho character. Same with Anna Torv. She's a black hole. Let John Noble and Joshua Jackson solve crimes with Astrid and report to Lance Reddick and just forget the nice blonde lady from the FBI. TVG -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
