I agree with you 100% about Fringe - except that I think the did start
letting the really interesting supporting characters get more play,
and Torv has gotten a little more interesting since she came back from
her encounter with Spock.

Also agree for the most part about Flashforward - Fiennes has been
surprisingly uninteresting, given his film work. If Walger is the
actress that plays his wife/Penny on Lost, then I agree with you about
her too. But I do think that Fiennes character is interesting enough
as a plot driver that this should be sufficient - except the show for
some reason keeps wanting to slow down and turnitself into some kind
of hybrid between Lost, Grey's Anatomy and NYPD Blue. That is what I
meant about the show just being satisfied with one season - they have
an interesting premise, run like hell with it and forget about
establishing deep and complicated character relationships.

Gradually? I thought it kind of stopped completely in week two, and
has been very gradually spiraling *up* since then. But it's still
nowhere near realizing its potential.

They have had 9 episodes so far, and I think 4 of the first 5 were
their best (1 and 5 were the very best). The most recent one was a
step up, but 6-8 were for me a steady decline.
