I agree, and it applies across the board. I could be wrong, but it
seems like Jon Stewart is the only guy who is allowed to book just the
guests he gives a sh*t about.

Leno was at his best on camera during the writer's strike, when he
didn't have to talk to anybody about their movies. It is obvious Leno
isn't a movie-watcher and has nothing to say about anybody's movies
that isn't written on a card in his hand. Letterman's writer as least
try to get anecdotes from moviestars... I'll tune out as son as they
shift gears, commonly as the laughter dies down and Letterman asks
something like, "Now, you play a serial killer in your new movie,
right?"

Practically gone are the days when celebrities appeared on talk shows
with nothing to promote.
