They may want him to do a couple of jokes every night as part of their prime coverage - he's shown up on Sunday Night Football enough that having him at sporting events is common. Leno has pretty much worked every weeknight since the beginning of his show. Even if they're taking some time off after Christmas, those two weeks he'd be off during the Olympics might be a well needed rest (for both the staff and the viewers). TVG -- TV or Not TV ....
