Agreed, which is why it will also be interesting to see how the patent issues work out between Apple and everyone else developing touch screen devices.
There was some murmuring previously about DISH Network simply buying TiVo if it comes down to shutting down the receivers. I'm not sure if that's still on the table. DISH has owned Sling for a few years now; perhaps they could provide something similar to DVR functionality through a 'centralized' Sling server - and just stream shows on demand like Hulu?
