As a child, I was taken to a psychiatrist's office and he played me a
record... to this day I still don't know what his motivation was.
It was the album version ("At the bottom of this mine lies a hell of a
man...") of "Big Bad John."
The sausage-meister and several-times TV host passed Sunday night at
his Virginia home... Sara Lee, who acquired his company, canned him as
a spokesperson years ago... he was to be inducted into the Country
Music Hall of Fame this October. 81.
