With the Emmys coming three days before the NBC gag rule ends, the Hollywood Reporter's Matthew Belloni says that legally Coco can say anything he wants if he wins the Emmy for his brief stint at "The Tonight Show" (as many believe he will), as long as it isn't "false" or generally "insulting or defamatory":
http://thresq.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/08/what-conan-can-and-cant-say-at-the-emmys.html For the record, the same gag rule applies to NBC statements about Conan, which makes one wonder what network promos for Leno will sound like once we get closer to November. BTW, the Emmy Creative Arts ceremony highlights get their first airing tomorrow afternoon on E! at 1 p.m. ET (along with the prime time airing on Saturday)--since the Writing for a Comedy/Variety/Music Series or Special category got shunted from prime time to Creative Arts, see if the traditional gag reels made it to Creative Arts (or if anyone even bothered this year). -- TV or Not TV ....
