I haven't seen #2 yet. The first episode ran around 80 minutes (including end credits; 90 minute slot, but with teaser scenes and Alan Cumming at the beginning, and done in time for five minutes of PBS blah blah blah). Unfortunately, I can't find it, but somebody who attended a screening of the premiere posted a list of all of the scenes cut for PBS broadcast. Not much that affected the plot, but lots of character and atmospheric nuance was lost. It could be worse -- I remember seeing a mini the BBCA cut from six hours to three (in a four-hour slot). Entire characters and subplots vanished, leaving little that made sense.
