I guess I'm attempting to be an optimist, and this is my roundabout
way of saying that five less hours of Keith on a medium I do frequent
paves the way for something potentially better.

I draw the distinction between Keith's political fan base (people who
share his politics) and his egomaniacal fan base (those who believe he
expresses his views in a civilized manner). Those who believe Keith
helps his causes only serve to feed his ego, and are thus the lunatic
fringe.

That used to be true. I'm not so sure anymore. I mean, do you honestly
think Keith would take a job as a sports anchor... that he could
silence his idealogical opinions? He wasn't able to cover the '08
elections without spouting his beliefs, and he got demoted by NBC
Prime because of it.

A claim made about my sweet baby Shannen Doherty is that she is a
talented and charismatic actress who loses work because she is unable
to play well with others. She still finds work. So will Keith. The
industry is very forgiving. You can cheat on your wife, lock a hooker
in a closet, and drunkenly drive on the opposite side of traffic eight
or nine times and all will be forgiven. Keith will be back again. I'm
just hoping that wherever he lands, it won't take away airtime from
others who want to put the public interest above self interest.
