I don't buy the "availability of footage" theory since there's plenty
of footage from Dallas' own "Mr. Peppermint" both from his long run on
WFAA and his later run on PBS affil KERA-TV. Jerry Haynes had a
35-year run on local and syndicated television and "Texas Monthly"
calls him "one of the founding fathers of children’s television".  He
is very much alive and also has the 'hook' of his son being rock star
Gibby Haynes.
