Well, unlike other sports leagues, Comcast owns a team and has a seat on the
NHL Governor's Executive Committee in the form of Comcast Spectacor's
chairman Ed Snider.

So, it's not the only reason. It's a relatively cheap acquisition that can
actually grow...kinda like NBC Universal.
