I can tell you that Versus is on what I'd arbitrarily call Digital
Basic on AT&T UVerse, WOW! (Detroit), Time Warner (NYC) and DirecTV,
and Digital Extended on Dish. The only cable company that Versus is on
Extended Basic is Comcast. This is why anyone who argues that a
channel is available in x million homes is pushing a red herring. It's
how many households actually subscribe to it that matters, and no one
wants to give up that information. And I don't think the NHL, some
college conferences, and the Tour de France is going to be enough to
push a cable company to move a channel *down*.
